How to remove unpleasant smell of a towel?

Any kitchen towel, despite the high quality and material, can acquire an unpleasant smell over time.

The most common reasons for this: did not have time to wash, poorly dried, or absorbed the aromas of food. Sometimes, normal washing is not enough to eliminate this “defect”.

How to get rid of the unpleasant smell of towels?

A solution of vinegar.

Option number 1. Before machine washing kitchen towels, we recommend soaking them for 30 minutes in a solution of vinegar. To prepare the solution, you need 250 ml. vinegar diluted in 10 liters water. After the towel is advisable to wash with a double rinse. If the odor still remains, to neutralize it add a pinch of citric acid and rinse the towel again.

Option number 2. Place 100 gr. baking soda into the machine instead of washing powder. Any washing mode will do. About 15 minutes before it ends, add a little vinegar to the compartment.

Option number 3. To eliminate odors, kitchen towels can be soaked briefly in warm water with a double portion of detergent. Rinse thoroughly after.

Option number 4. In rare cases, you can use a microwave to get rid of bacteria. A wet towel at a temperature of 800 degrees needs to be heated for 30 seconds. Then it can be washed with both hands and a machine.

Option number 5. Adding conditioners during washing will give the kitchen towels a pleasant aroma and freshness. The advantage is that the fabric will become softer.
