What is seersucker? Seersucker is a fabric with a relief, slightly stretched surface. The first time, seersucker fabric was made of silk by repeatedly twisting the threads and was called “crepe”. The name "seersucker" was fixed to it. Nowadays, it is used to produce exclusive bedding or expensive clothes. Later, a similar fabric was made of wool and cotton.

The unusual surface, reminiscent of grain, waves, or small folds in structure and appearance, plus the absence of creasing and elasticity provided seersucker fabric with an excellent reputation. Over time, manufacturers began to produce it from both natural and synthetic yarns.

To diversify the relief of seersucker was possible due to:

special twisting of threads,
heat treatment of the fabric,
fibers of different compositions are exposed to high temperatures.

The main types of seersucker are:

Silk or cotton crepe. The fabric has improved hygiene and resistance to damage. Pleasant to the touch. Gives a feeling of comfort. Crepe is used for sewing bedding, women's and men's clothing, curtains, and other home textile products.
Crash (harvested viscose). Artificial fabric. It is created by the heat treatment of fibers. Less durable and less embossed compared to crepe. Ideal for use in hot weather. It is not expensive. The crash is used for sewing women's clothing and home textiles.
Synthetic and blended seersucker fabric (erroneously called crepe). It consists of both natural and artificial fibers. Relatively low cost. Good toughness. The material is a little harsh.
Stone Washed. The material is made from linen with the addition of synthetics. It has a “crumpled”, naturally elegant texture. Use for tailoring tourist backpacks and clothes. It withstands frost and retains its shape.

Seersucker bedding does not require ironing and does not crease. A great gift for active people and those who seek home comfort, but do not want to spend too much time on its achievement. Any crumple and surface roughness is independently restored after washing.

Wash bedding made from seersucker fabric is the safest and most productive with gentle treatment. After it is enough to straighten bedding and give it time to dry.
