As you know, the classic does not go out of fashion. Buying white bedding is still a great solution for many. In the first couple of months, a set of bedding will look great and dazzle with its impeccable whiteness. But what to do next? Indeed, due to numerous washes, over time it will acquire a gray tint.
There are several ways to whiten bed linen:
We consider each of them in more detail.
Oxygen bleaches => the most gentle. It can be used with machine wash. Also, with their help, you can return the brightness to colored things.
Chlorine-based bleaches => not only eliminate stains, but also disinfect bed linen. Minus is that they destroy the structure of the dye.
Optical brighteners => reflective substances penetrate fibers and make them whiter. However, removing stains in this way will not work.
3. Boiling. Good only if you have cotton or linen bedding. Since only they can withstand the high temperatures that occur when boiling. To boil bed linen, you need to take an enameled container and cover its bottom with a small cloth. Then - add detergent and bed linen. Pour all this with water and boil for about an hour over medium heat while stirring continuously with a wooden stick (other materials may oxidize). After – bed linen should be cooled and rinsed.
4. Whitener. Since chlorine is in its composition, frequent use destructively affects the fabric and reduces the life of the bedding. To eliminate stains in this way, prepare a solution: water, detergent and 1 spoon of white. Immerse bedding or accessories in the mixture for 20 minutes. Then, to eliminate odors, rinse thoroughly and dry.
5. Soda. Eliminates complex dirt and does not harm the fabric. To prepare the solution you will need: 5 tablespoons of ammonia, 10 tablespoons of soda and 10 liters of water. The fabric must be soaked for a couple of hours. After, it will be nice to fast wash the bedding in washing machine.
